First time buyer (car), can my mom put me on her insurance?
I have about $1,000 saved up, and I was planning on just buying a cheap Honda or whatever, cash for around $900.
So after find a few cars, I went to see a progressive insurance quote.
$500 a month.
The lowest I think was around $340~…
Wtf?
There’s no way in hell I’m paying $300-500 a month for a car that’s only $900, that’s way more than the car’s actually worth.
So can my mom put me on her insurance? She lives in Arizona, I live in Florida.
Or can the people I live with put me on they’re insurance?

Have the car put in your mother’s name. Then you can be on her insurance, but it is still going to cost someone money. If you can’t afford to pay for insurance, you can’t afford a car.
I know man. INSURANCE SUX!!!
Only the owner can insure a vehicle. You must have a really bad driving history if your insurance will be that high.
have someone with a good driving record the older they are the better, make sure you insured your car with a minimum requirement for your state, the insurance will try to sell it to you with everything included sometimes when you dont even need it. Do not insure your car with full cover, its not worth it $900 bucks if you hit someone might as well buy a new one instead of having your company fix it.Lastly shop around progressive isnt the best. i was 16/male and went to statefarm they quote me $1700 for 6 months. So i went with a different company now i’m 18 paying $700 bucks with all state shop around for the cheapest.
You can compare how the insurance quotes would change, for example here – autoinsurance.noneto.com
